Going green: Fighting the winter blahs with a couple of good walks

Posted by Dane on February 11th, 2008

I don’t’ know about you, but I’m spending way too much time inside these days. Watching TV, puttering around the house. The other day I realized I was just staring out the window. Time to get outside.

It also occurred to me that if you’re in town for just a few days, it can be good to break from all the sightseeing. So here are our two favorite spots for a stroll:

1. In town: Shelby Bottoms – These are paved trails, and sections take you right along the Cumberland. It can be busy on weekends.
2. Just out of town: Radnor Lake – It’s got all kinds of great trails throughout. If you’re looking for a workout hike up to Ganier Ridge.

Strolling from honky tonk to honky tonk on Music Row is a different sort of workout, too. Just different wildlife.

See ya,
Dane
