The Sounding Board

This week’s new Nashville vocabulary word is “The District”!

It’s funny the things you don’t think about mentioning if someone’s not from your city. Like how even to say Nashville! We’re lucky someone actually asked! (Remember, it’s Nash-vull, like “bull,” not Nash-ville, like “pill.”)

But I realize we also forgot to tell ya’ll something else when a guest asked me where “The District” was. They just couldn’t figure it out. Which district? It was pretty funny. Because “The District” is just what we call the downtown.

It’s really where most of the big things to see are like the Ryman, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Titan Stadium, Centennial Park and the Parthenon, the visitor center and all kinds of shopping and clubs and stuff.

So if you see the District mentioned or someone tells you about it, now you know where to go!

TTFN!
