Toast 2008 with a glass or two of Nashville brew

Posted by Dane on January 4th, 2008

Thanks a lot, Jennifer. Dora read your spa post, and just when I thought all the spending was finally over… I’m kidding of course. She deserves it after everything she did to pull off Christmas again without a hitch.

But it did get me thinking, what about us guys who carried in the firewood and hung up the Christmas lights and all? I’m thinking beer. Microbrew beer is getting popular in Nashville, so I’ll follow Jennifer’s list with my own top two.

1. Yazoo Brewing
I like their Dos Perros ale. If you like your beer on the darker side, try their Sly Rye porter.
2. Boscos Nashville Brewing
Their Flaming Stone beer has won some awards. But then so has their IPA and their Scottish Ale.

That should help you start 2008 off right.

Cheers,
Dane

Start off the new year without any aches or pains!

Posted by Jennifer on January 2nd, 2008

Hi everybody! Well, I survived New Year’s. I sort of knew it would happen but we just ended up staying at the Tin Roof. Everybody was there and the music was too good (plus vodka drinks were only $2.00!).

But I decided the best way to get the year started right was to treat myself to a spa day! That’s my first resolution. I’ve been asking everyone and here’s what I’ve found out about places, just in case it’s on your list, too.

1.    Essential Therapy Store and Spa:
It’s on West End downtown. Even the waiting room is supposed to be relaxing.
2.    Adagio Massage Co. and Spa:
It’s right on Music Row. My girlfriend said it doesn’t look like much but said it’s cozy and they’re really nice.

If a spa day isn’t one of your resolutions, it’s time to update your list!

TTFN,
Jennifer
