Hi Nashville, It’s Great to Finally Meet You!

Where should I start? I guess I should say first that I’m not native Tennessean. I’m actually originally from Alabama. I’m told my accent sort of gives me away anyway. Oh well.

But I really enjoy Nashville. My husband I moved here with our two dogs (Shadow and Macie) to attend Middle Tennessee State University, where I’m currently working on my master’s in mathematics.

I began at Hotel Preston in March and work at the front desk. My duties include checking in and out guests, reservations, concierge services and the overall happiness of guests. One of the great things about the job is that every day is different. It’s impossible to get bored.

Plus, I really enjoy getting to deal directly with the people who come to the hotel. I used to work as a software engineer and what made me finally decide that wasn’t for me was I missed interacting with people.

I also love the hotel because it’s pet friendly! Being a real animal person, that’s pretty important to me.

When I’m not working, or studying, which is rare these days, I enjoy spending time with my husband (and dogs, of course), reading (especially mysteries!), and watching movies. And right now I’m also addicted to “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Army Wives”! (Thank goodness I can record them!)

So that’s it for me. Now you’ll know when you visit us!
